I used to use um earthlink with that speed up crap, it's basically the same technology. It compresses web pages so it loads a tad faster, I think you can select the level of compression you want. Of course it degrades the quality of pictures, the higher it is, the worse the quality. It will not speed up downloads or latency in the slightest, only web browsing. I really don't think it's worth paying extra for.

Thanks I was wondering what it really was, I don't think it's worth it then.
It won't help out any with downloads or streaming media or anything like that. Like Reck45 said, it caches and compresses web pages so that they load faster. If you really want, you can get a better improvement yourself for free by telling your web browser not to load or display images. At school I occasionally used a web browser called lynx, which is text-only. It's very boring but VERY fast and it's fine for doing things like catching up on the news. I believe it's Linux only though, but IE and Firefox do fine with no images.
