Hello Everyone! I need your help and advice in choosing the best headphone and amp that'll suit my needs. I listen to a variety of music but mostly Rock, Alternative and a bit of Pop. I also listen to video game OSTs

Here's an outline of what I'm looking for:

  1. Closed-back Over-ear headphones that I can use both indoors and outdoors
  2. A headphone amplifier that will compliment the said headphone

I already made some research here in Head-Fi forums and I found that the most recommended headphone is the Audio-Technica ATH-M50. One post also mentioned the AKG K550 and I'm quite interested to it as well.

I would really appreciate the help and advice as I'm having a tough time choosing one. I want to have a set of headphone and amp that will lasts.

How about the AKG 545, and you don't really need an amp.. But if you really want some, the E07K would be cool.
