my router is linksys w54g. just yesterday, all of a sudden, it stops working with my laptop. at first, it wasnt even on the list of my available wireless network. then i went to the router via ethernet and reset everything. now it is showing in the avaliable network in my laptop but i cant connect to it. the signal strength is full but it just wont connect.

i dont think it's my laptop wireless card b/c i can connect to those unsecure network in my range fine. does anyone know what it's the problem? is it the router?

btw, i thought it's b/c of norton that blocking but i have uninstall it since and my windows firewall is off.

Try a full reset on the router (should be a small button on the back or bottom for a pen to fit into), then connect via ethernet and redo all settings, broadcast the ssid, and run no security. Once you can connect wirelessly enable security, recheck the connection, then disable the ssid broadcast. I can't explain why but I had a Linksys router that went wonky on me roughly 3 times a year, since I've switched to D-Link I haven't had these issues.
