Need To Decide Quick Sennheiser CX-300 vs. JBL Reference 220BLK vs. Sony MDR EX90 LP

No experience with the Sony, but I have the Senns and the JBL, and prefer the JBL. The sound is similar, but the Senn bass seems a bit boomier and muddier.

The JBL cord is much better. It is covered with cloth which reduces microphonics. The Senn cord is a J-cord (short on one side) which I don't like, plus it is stiff and won't always stay where you want it to.

JBL also comes with a nice carrying case.

Edit: I should add that the JBL does not isolate as much, it has a rear vent. That reduces the bass congestion, and I prefer it because my footsteps aren't amplified. If you really want isolation the Senns have more.

My suggestion: Crossroads Mylarone X3, d-JAYS
These are for under 100$

x2, and this for someone who used to own the Creative ep-630 and now uses the JBLs. (got 'em for ten bucks, but will probably upgrade in time) Of the three options you've listed, the JBL are pretty easily the best.

Never listened to the EX90LP. The JBL is better than the EP630 but by adding a little bit more money you can get the Mylarone X3s which can easily beat the Creative and JBLs in terms of sound quality.

I use the EX90s...they're absolutely the BEST IEM under 100 dollars I've ever seen. Not out of the box of course...but they're moddable...VERY moddable. I wouldn't trade them in except for some UE 5pros....

The soundstage on the sony's is the best I've ever heard in IEM..... I HIGHLY recommend them, and they go for about 70 bucks online. Just from my expierences....I like the sonys

Ex90's are way better than any of the others especially when modded. Bass is much cleaner & tighter than the JBL. You really have to go high end balanced armatures to do better than the EX90 like over 300 dollars once modded that is. Stock the midrange & treble are mildly muffled but modded they open up very nicely though not quite as nice as 300 dollar plus balanced armature IEM's. My opinion is modded they sound better than the Superfi 5 pro's.

x4 for Mylarone X3. I don't believe any other headphones mentioned here could be better, and it is simply impossible to have better SQ/price ratio. They cost around CX300's price while Senns get quickly unlistenable after a couple of minutes spent with X3's. If you find X3's tips uncomfortable you can buy Fit Kit for $9 what most people do and enjoy them even more. I haven't received my Fit Kit yet, but small tips let me insert the earbuds deep into ear canal and enjoy very clear, smooth and spacious sound. With good equalization or without it but from a good portable amp you'll get unbelievable soundstage, precise and surrounding you, also giving good ilusion of the distance. I have listened to lots of different types of Sony's headphones built on their 13.5mm or 16mm drivers and all of them where obviously imperfect and uninvolving. Save your money, buy X3 and you won't regret your decision.
