Hello.
normal_smile .gif

I also need a set of speakers.
I want quality sound, quality build and bass.. but my budget is 250$
I've been looking at the Corsair SP2500 - but I see a lot of reviews complaining about the build quality.
Do any of you have experience with the SP2500's? or other good speakers?
I am open for almost anything - floor speakers, pc speakers ...... ......

Thanks for the help!

JBL LSR-305 (more detailed)
Mackie MR5mk3 (just a tad more laid back)

I highly recommend doing something different than those corsairs..

the JBL's mentioned are highly regarded..  because i have the desk space and because I tend to favor vintage stereo gear..  I have vintage stereo speakers / receivers / amps..

for the desk space challenged there are many little t-amps that can be had quite inexpensively.

used speakers can be a good deal.. if you find the right pair /deal

Right now I'm listening to my Monitor Audio Silver S1's I bought at goodwill for $9~ (they had been rather poorly spray painted by someone at some point.. I cleaned them up some and they sound great driving them with a $20 Kenwood KR-V106R 100WPC stereo receiver ..  I dare anyone to get better results for a $30 investment.

if not wanting to mess with vintage /used gear.. the Elac B5's (currently $199 at amazon) and a TPA3116 based t-amp would be quite nice indeed.

the PreSonus Eris E4.5 ($150~ at amazon) would also destroy the corsair set up... honestly many things would

Thanks for all your kind help.

It should sound loud and bassy but far from good in terms of sound quality.
Music happens in the midrange and those midrange drivers are too small. On top of that the subwoofer is too big so you won't get great integration between the speakers.
Keep in mind that 100-140usd is still a modest budget for quality 2.0 active speakers, let alone 2.1.

As I've said before, if you want something that's able to produce rumble and sound relatively loud, then the Z623 might work, but if you want sound quality then it won't.
