Recently i have been doing lots of headphone modding and stuff like that, and i wanted to learn how to make my own cables, and i cant find a good guide. All i want to do is make some 3.5mm headphone cables. I have all of tools such as a soldering iron, wire strippers, wire cutters, and all that good stuff. What i don't know is what materials do i need to make the cable. Stuff like what kind of wire to get, what kind of plug to get, what do i use to insulate the wire, and all that stuff.

There are threads floating around the internet with about step by step headphone recabling.
Mogami and Canare brand quad microphone cables seemed to be well liked for headphone recabling.
Canare also seems to make some nice headphone plugs (1/4" & 1/8").
Lots of different nylon braided sleeves sold on eBay.
