I just burnt through my 3rd pair of ear buds on my ipod, I use them almost exclusively to work out and I sweat ALOT, now the right channel in my Sennheiser CX300's is way low, I plug other speakers/headphones in my ipod and no problem, I plugged the CX300's in my laptop and the same problem occurred. I tried cleaning the earbud using an alcohol pad and it helped a tiny bit, but there is definitely a left channel dominance.
I was looking at the V-MODA Bass Freq Earbuds, I don't want to drop a bunch of money on earbuds as I expect to burn through them a little quicker than normal, but I really would like something that could stand up to a workout and deal with the sweat. I only want the in ear kind, the other earbuds (flat and kinda lay in your ear) fall out due to my sweating.
Any suggestions would be appreciated and I'd like to keep it in the CX300 - V-MODA Bass Freq Earbuds pricerange.
Thanks!

If you want the earbuds just to workout and sound quality does not have to be tops look at the phones which are sold as resistant to moisture. They are funny looking but may be what you need.

Thanks, I am by no means and audiophile, but I do like to hear the subtle nuances in music, ok, so I listen to The Clash when I work out, and there aren't TOO many subtle anythings, but I also listen Bela Fleck, Phish and classical, which can be chock full of nuancey goodness. Thanks again.

Maybe you should get a couple of pairs of JVC Marshmallows -- might be a good balance between performance under the circumstances and relative expendability. Alternating pairs, or just "using up" one pair before switching to the next, might work out for you.

I have and like the Creative EP630s, so those might be a good solution in your case, as well.

"something that could stand up to a workout and deal with the sweat"

If the guy sweats like Shaquille O'Neal, I'm not sure an especially sweet-sounding earphone that costs more than a certain amount is what he needs. If his workouts cause the premature demise of his earphones, maybe he's not looking for "the one" -- just something that sounds pretty good for a while before it expires due to sweat damage. At least that's what I'm hearing ...
