I started reading in here last night looking for some info on some headphones for my kids for Christmas. Being pretty much clueless in this area it does get a bit confusing!!

My kids are 20 & 17 and primarily use their headsets for gaming and music. This would be for the most part just for their PC's. Looking to stay under 100 bucks, but would spend alittle more for a good deal. I did read alot about the AD700 last night and maybe these would be a good choice? Of course I'm looking for other choices as well that might fit the bill. Thanks is advance!!!

Appreciate the response.....was also wondering about the durability of something like the AD700's as opposed to a very inexpensive piece. Also if I found a deal on ebay would the warranty be a problem as opposed to buying from am authorized retailer online?

It largely has to do with the company as many consider eBay a grey market. Try headroom.com or earphonesolutions.com. They may have some great deals right now. As for durability: the more expensive are not always "tougher", they are usualy just higher quality in there sound quality. But there may be-and usualy is a marked difference in build quality v

Merry Christmas!

I don't have the AD700, I do have the AD900 and they are reasonably similar. Judging from my AD900, I'd say the AD700 are pretty durable and will be amazing for gaming. As for music, it depends on the kind of music you listen to. If the music really needs good bass to shine than the AD700 might not be what you're looking for. They do have bass, it's just not skull cracking bass. They are amazing value for your money though. One of the best bang for the buck headphones from what I've read. Take my comment with a grain of salt though, as I'm still a bit of a Head-Fi noob.
