I am getting tired of listening to the same cds again and again. So I've decided to get some new cds but I don't know what to get.

Here is a few I really like and if you have heard it and have found some other artists or cds by the same artists that you like, please recommand it.

Tony Bennett - Steppin' Out
John Pizzarelli - Let There Be Love

I am trying to look for music of that genre (what genre are they in anyway?) and I just could get enough of it.

So please recommand some.

Hi Pep! From the little I've heard of John Pizz and Tony B, I think you might be able to classify them as vocal jazz/adult-contemporary (correct me if I'm wrong here anyone). In terms of suggestions in the genre, you'll most definetly want to check out anything by Diana Krall... amazing voice and great pianist! Alot of people put All For You at the top of their list but you really can't go wrong with any of her music

But of course just to be on the safe side, I'd recommend listening to some clips at cdnow. Another I recommend without any hesitation at all is Norah Jones' Come Away With Me. I just picked this up the other day after having listened to the entire CD at the store, and I think I can say I'm in love

Her voice is simply incredible and her music is mostly soft and moody but sometimes teasingly playful! She's not so much pure vocal jazz as she is a mix of jazz and folk, but it works... well... very very well

hmm.. I've heard countless people recommending Diana Krall and that album on this board. I might wanna pick that up. Norah Jones is also getting quite a few recommendations lately, but I've talked about her in another thread... entitled Norah Jones on Letterman in the music forum, or something like that.
