Hi all,

So basically I'm looking for a different pair of headphones for my wife.
She's mainly going to use it for music, since I was looking around the 100€ price I actually purchased the sennheiser HD569, but it turns out that on her PC these don't drive well without an amp, low volume non-existing bass, they work fine on my setup if I plug them into my Magni/Modi setup.

Alas I'm not that great on funds right now, especially on something she won't use daily, but more like Bi-Weekly.
Otherwise I'd buy a Magni and call it a day, which could still be an option depending on the advice here.

So I need a closed back pair of headphones around 100-150€, and I'll buy it from Amazon.de or Amazon.fr
I was thinking of picking op the ATH-M50X, but my wife is a bit of a basshead and I'm wondering if this is a good pair with that in mind.

The alternative is that she uses my very worn old HD518 open back pair, and we save some money for a magni paired with a pair that is actually better fit with an amp (along the lines of a Fidelio X2?)

Any insights or advice are welcome

Look into the Superlux HD660. Thomann carries it. Well below your budget.

Or maybe check prices for the Focal Listen in case it goes on sale.

An Asus Xonar DG or DGX sound card ($20-$40) should provide more power for driving headphones, then the headphone jack built into your wife's PC.
Maybe the FiiO K1, USB-DAC/amp
Check out the Takstar HD6000, just as bassy as the ATH-M50X, but the HD6000 is cheaper.
