Can anyone suggest a pocket size amp that can be used between a portable CD player (or MP3 player) and a set of Harmon Karmon Soundsticks, for use in college classes?

The Pocket Amp 2 caught my attention as a possibility, but i'm not sure it would work for this purpose. (That price, about $60, is about as high as i would want to go.)

I had thought such an amp would not be necessary, but when i hooked up the line out of a portable CD player to the speakers yesterday, the volume was so low it was almost inaudible at max volume on the speakers.

(I had previously used my Iaudio U2 with these speakers, and the volume was high enough to be usable, but more volume would be better.)

Is this what you have:

It would seem that another amp would not be needed, but perhaps the portable CD player has a very weak output...power/batteries/volume control are fine on the PCDP?

If the power out from the CDP is too weak then a cheap solution like the PA2v2 might do the trick...this is all just a guess.
