Hey head-fi'ers! With all the great deals floating around right now, I'm looking at new headphones. Here's a brief listing of headphones I've tried.
JVC HANC250 Noise Cancelling Headphones http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000U07C1U
Opinion: I loved the active noise cancellation, but after about 6 months it began to produce nausea-inducing "vibration" sounds and I leave it off now. Sound quality was the best of the headphones I've tried. I DETEST the comfort though. I will never buy on-ear headphones again. After an hour my ears are experiencing ever-increasing pain.
Logitech USB Headset H530 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003NREDG4
Opinion: Bought these for leisure gaming at home. I hate the cheap plastic-y feeling of the cups. They cause my ears to over-heat. These sit on my ear and eventually cause pain (though not nearly as bad as the JVC's). Quality was OK.
Creative Fatal1ty Gaming Headset http://www.amazon.com/Creative-Labs-HS800-Fatal1ty-Headset/dp/B002DS4HTM
Opinion: Another one bought for gaming at home. Love love love the cloth of the cups. Love. So comfortable. LOVE that they are over my ear and don't sit on it. Love that they're lightweight. Sound quality is better than the Logitech but not as good as the JVC. They passively block out a good amount of sound. Love that they don't hurt after an hour.
Wishlist:
I would like a set of "middle ground" headphones (up to $200).
They have to be over-the-ear.
I'd prefer cloth, but if the cups are of some material that doesn't overheat and is as cool and comfortable as cloth, then I'm cool with that.
I'd prefer some form of noise suppression (active or passive) because these will be for work.
That's pretty much it. Does anyone have any recommendations?
Thanks
