Which headphones should I buy to get more resolution than K1000? I want the most midrange resolution possible. Is electrostatic the way to go? Are they better than K1000? What about TakeT headphones?

The K1000 is actually pretty resolving, it just doesn't present the details straight to your face. This is coming from an extremely avid 'stats fan. That said, yes, go electrostatic. "Better" is subjective but if you're looking for detail, 'stats are it.

Yeah, I believe you may want to look into electrostatics. Omega 2 or something.
I have far from heard all the moving coil headphones out there, but believe you need to look hard to find anything with more resolution than the K1000.

Happy hunting!

O2. However the K1k does emphasize its detail more, so it can sound more detailed on first listen. The O2's resolution of microdetail however is on another level, compared to not just the K1k but pretty much everything else out there, too.

My friend, you need some electron microscope, not headphone.

Man, I can't imagine the K-1000 lacking more resolution. May be you should try a different amp... Or try the W5000, I don't know if you'll like how they sound, but they definitely have details.

Patrick. Please, please take my advice. Upgrade your source. Buy a better DAC, a better amp, and it will almost undoubtedly increase your resolution.

Or, alternatively, you could hire a surgeon, and have your insides coated with ERS paper. It would improve the way your body interprets the sound.

Or perhaps even better, mix Stax and ERS paper...

Wow - that's a LOT of paper - did he do this for a bet?
