I think it is time to get more music. I need more metal bands, ones that are great, have excellent guitar riffs, nice melodies, good technical performance. Basically looking for good metal.

I don't care about the genre if the band is good. Just to let you know these are some of the bands I have been listening to:

Wintersun, Omnium Gatherum, Archeon, Arsis, Cavalera Conspiracy, Ensiferum, Illnath, Imperanon, Mastodon, Mors Principium Est, Light This City, ...

As well as the typical, Iron Maiden, Dark Tranquility, Yngwie Maasltem, Liquid Tension Experiment.

So any other good bands are welcome.

These guys aren't exactly metal (well maybe a little) but they are OUTSTANDING musicians. you will not be dissapointed
if you can mix sad but true (metallica) with Clint Eastwood (Gorillaz) you gotta be tallented

I can't say it's ever come up, haha. I guess I do look a bit like him now that I've seen a picture of him

I'll also recommend Benighted if you're looking for some energetic brutal death metal. They also make excellent use of breakdowns in their songs. Check out their song Foetus on their myspace page.

I've been getting into a lot of sludge metal so here are some recommendations:

Boris - Pink
(amazing album)

Isis - Oceanic, the vocals threw me off a bit at first but grows on you kinda like Opeth

I think somebody already mentioned Savatage's Streets. Not sludge but it's a good metal album, kind of cheesy but w/e, Dream Theater still holds the crown in cheesy lyrics.

This is more instrumental rock than metal but Pelican's The Fire In Our Throats Will Beckon the Thaw (yeah, I typed the whole thing) pointed me towards Isis so give it a listen.
