Looking to buy a amp to boost the power off my X-FI Titanium HD soundcard, wondering if this one here is anygood ? or if you can recommend me one for around $100.  I find the X fi Titanium HD lacking somewhat in driving some headphones, so i want a decent amp i can connect to it and then plug my HP into.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/SMSL-sApII-TPA6120A2-Big-Power-High-Fidelity-Stereo-Headphone-Amplifier-/110889315357?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19d184ac1d

The SMSL amp. uses the same amp chip (6120A2) as the Asus Phoebus, Essence STX & ST and Fiio E9.
So super low Ohm (like 25-Ohm) headphone might not work well with it (maybe?).

First time ever seeing that amp. guessing it's new.

So its like buying a Fiio E9 basically, but a little cheaper.

Yea, like a Fiio E9, guessing the SMSL does not have 3 swappable op-amps, like the E9.

I might pick it up at that price, i will just use my X-FI Titanium HDs EQ to tweak the sound.  Does the E9 warm the sound up any ? what does it do to the sound ? or does it just amp it up and not affect the sound ?

Amplifier increase the juice to where it affects the diaphragm in the headphone cup (or speaker).
So you will plug the headphone amplifier into the RCA outputs on the T-HD (Titanium HD).
The T-HD can send processed headphone surround sound thru the (T-HD's) RCA outputs.
