Need help with beyerdynamic DT 990s

I recently received a pair of DT 990 pros (250 Ohms) as a gift from my grandmother and I am brand new to this sort of technology. Practically all I've ever owned in the sound department were different iPod headphones. The headphones sound great. Much better than I am used to but I am unsure if it's worth spending money of a headphone amp and DAC. All I have to play my music on is my laptop which is quite old and is beginning to fall apart or my nokia lumia 800 which is already really quiet. I listen mainly to progressive rock like Yes and Van der Graaf Generator (dunno if that helps) and I have around $300 to spend if the difference is worth it.

That should fit your needs perfectly. Use the USB DAC when using computer, and just is it as an AMP with your Lumia. (Or if you can get it working, you can use a USB OTG cable and use it as a DAC as well)
