Good day Ladies and gents, I wanted to ask the specialists under you (when not all of you) what headphones you recommend here are the things I need and the things I do :
- I mainly listen to trip-hop and old school rap (for ex. Massive Attack, Tricky, Souls of Mischief, Digable Planets)
- I like bass but I don't want it, to be omnipresent
- They should be closed back as I'm used to listen to music at school or in the library and they should be a bit isolating so that I can listen to the "full music experience
- These are the headphones I had for now: bowers&wilkins p3 and Marshall major I & II

I did some research and found that the Meze 99 classics would be a good choice as it seems that you guys and innerfidelity like them a lot

Please keep in mind that I live in the EU and that for some brands it is quit difficult to resellers

Thanks in advance
See you

The Meze are very good headphones I have only heard them a couple of times so I don't know how bad they leak sound. I heard them at CanJam and they did a decent job of isolating outside noise (very noisy ) so I think they are not bad at leaking too much out. Some have a problem with them as the cups are not too big for people with large ears I didn't have a problem my ears aren't that big. For the price they are very good indeed. Just my opinion YMMV.

Wow thanks the quick response buke9
I did some more research since I posted this and found some more interesting headphones in the same (European) price range:
- the NAD HP50
- Sony MDR-1RNC
- Blue Mo-Fi (found very good and very bad reviews about this one)

But I think the Meze are still the more interesting since innerfidelity put down de NAD from the wall of fame for them

The only one of those that I have heard is the Nad's. I bought and returned them only on fitment issues . They sound good but the pads would not seal on the bottom of my ears for me. I had to extend the pads all the way out to get them to set on my ears right but there was a inch or better gap from the headband to the top of my head. Might just be me as everyone has a different head . They sounded very good also and would have kept them at the time if they fit. I think I like the Meze better but it has been awhile since I had them. Just saw the Innerfidelity part of your post and would have to agree. One other thing about the Meze is they are modular everything is screwed together and the Meze guys at CanJam said they are working on new cups and drivers that can be just replaced with some screws. I have not heard anything about that yet but it isn't a bad selling point .
