Hey! I need some help to choose a closed headphone for going outside and do stuff like skateboarding and so, right now I have the denons Ah-d1100 I really like them it works well to have it outside and go skateboarding with them, but I wish it will isolate a bit more not to much, therefore a noice-canceling headphone maybe not to be an option? it maybe will isolate to much? I want to hear the backgrond of noise but not so much is it possible? Price is up to 300$ I have been looking at the Focal Spirit one but it might be big and heavy and fall of when you skateboarding, HD-25 maybe is good but I really dont like on-ears and I have read about is not so good with classical, maybe Sony Mdr-7506?

This is  really hard I have the Yamaha Eph-100 it is really great sound from them, but in-ear is not good for my ears, its starts to itch when I have in-ears. The music genre I lisent  mostly to is Singer/songwriter, Film scores,Classical,Progressive Rock,Triphop,Trance,Chill-out and littlebit Jazz to. The headphone is gona be driven from my Cowon C2, I have the HD 600 for my home setup so it will nice to have a simlair sound, if it is necessary I maybe add a portable amp.

Thanks!

Heya,

Perhaps:

Brainwavz HM5 (FA003, NVX)
Beyer DT770
Shure SRH840
Sony MDR 7506
Ultrasone HFI 780

Any of those can take a fall. The HM5 and DT70 are especially tank like and will take a fall. Mabye consider something with detachable cable so you can replace it when you snag it hard or cut it up rolling over or something by accident.

Then again, the thought of skateboarding without being able to hear a car swiping you from the side seems quite dangerous. You'll be a trauma alert in whatever state you live in.

Very best,

Thanks for your alternatives, i'm gonna look on those. Yeah I know it might be dangerous with cars and so when you listen with headphones, but I go skateboarding on lonely places where there are no cars. Thanks again.
