Hi, I know this has been discussed to death, but I need your advice on which one is better for me. Of course sound quality is the most important (i listen to a wide variety of music, from classic to rock etc.), but portability, build quality & isolation are important as well (because i mostly listen to them on the go and in Uni).

I can get the HD25-1 ii for about AUD190 (include shipping to Australia) here: http://www.juno.co.uk/products/389372-01.htm
ATH-M50 I can get for around $140 (on ebay).

In many thread i've read, I often see people saying the HD25-1 ii is not as good of a deal when compared to the ATH-M50 due to price difference. However, with price like this, is the Sennheiser one still worth it?

Thanks.

In your case, the HD 25-1 ii. While I've never heard those, I have used the Amperiors which are fairly similar and they were solid. While I believe the M-50s are much better cans (and I do own those) they aren't that portable due to an either very long straight cable or a very heavy coiled cable. Judging by my time with the Amperior, the HD 25s are awesome for portable use.

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus.
In MalVeauX we trust.

Thanks for your advice guys, yeah I do listen to electronic music  (DnB, dubstep, house, etc.) quite a lot, but I listen to other kind as well (celtic, piano, classical etc.). Is the HD25's bass that bad compared to the other one?

Well my current reference for bass are IEMs, especially the senn IE7 .
In comparison to hd25, the bass of IE7 extend more, have more variation in the impact , is able of more visceral bass.
If you  are just looking for thump, the hd25 will provide it,
if you are looking for a rich experience on the bass department,  you might quickly have enough after listening a playlist of bass heavy music.
If you don't focus exclusively on bass heavy music, the hd25 will provide enough bass to enjoy lot of music, especially "mainstream".
I was actually surprised, but I've enjoyed listening  a final fantasy soundtrack on the hd25,  so there must be not that bad for classical.
Your mileage may vary.
I noticed significant differences in the measurements of hd25 II 1 produced according to innerfidelity.
I don't know for the M50.

Another vote for the Senns.  As others have mentioned, the Senns don't have the earth-shattering bass but I have never found it lacking for nearly all types of music.

Best of luck!
