Right now the only pair of headphones I own that could find use from an amp are my Grado SR60's. I am currently trying to find a cheap portable amp. I want something ~$100 or less that can receive power from a battery or power adapter and will be powerful enough for when I get other headphones higher up in the Grado or beyerdynamic line.

Also, I have considered building a c-moy amp, but it seems as though if you want it to be efficient and power it well, you need to change the circuit quite a bit from the base design; since I am not very skilled at audio DIY i would rather not build an amp myself.

You could probably do well with an iBasso T2, but a good idea is probably getting that Bithead from the FS for $80.

Where could I buy an iBasso T2? And whats "the FS" (sorry man, I am a total noob). I have seen the Bithead's retail for a little more than that from headroom, so I want to know if I can get one cheaper elsewhere...

Rolls PM50s Personal Monitor Amp

I own and use the Behringer MA400 and for the cost it is a very good little amp. However, I'm not sure that it would suit your purposes so I'll elaborate.

I bought mine because none of the HP outlets in any of my media would produce the true bass that is available in my Sennheiser HD 280s. These need to be driven to bring out the bass and the MA400 certainly showed how detailed the Senn's were in the bass region - revelatory! I know nothing about Grado's but based on my experience with the Senn's if the the Grados need to be driven then the MA400 will do the job. I'd start with this amp as it's so cheap yet so good. After that you can look at getting a better portable amp (which is what I'm doing now). I got my MA400 for $39 Australian - can't complain about that! You can probably pick one up from your local music store as this amp is mainly used by musos to monitor what's happening live via a set of phone's. The US price is $19 via the web - a bargain!

You can respond to posts there by PM- you just can't post yourself.

as mentioned, you need 50 posts to sell, not buy.
