followed instruction connect to comp and itunes still nothing comes on , ipod went back to Sad face again?? i have check all connection , every thing is okay
could it be a main board problem ? or battery ? well i have another working ipod try swapping the parts .......... now end up 2 sick ipod

Any Clue to it?

It sounds very much like a hard drive problem, which is usually caused by
reckless handling of the internal components of the ipod, particularly the
hard drive.

My ipod mini also sad faced ( was actually expecting for it to happen ),
so I replaced the microdrive with a compactflash card,
and it was as good as new!

Hope I've helped.

The CF conversion is dirt cheap (like $4 plus memory card) so could be worth a go anyway. Just try a 2gb card or something to test it, and if it works then get a 16 or 32.

Hi pcyl!

I'm living in Hong Kong. Perhaps, I can send you a CF-1.8" ZIF conversion board.

Would you pls PM me a mailing address?
