need help on choosing.......

I need help on choosing the right headphone. I am down to the Sony v6 and the HD280 because its in my price range.

I like the size of the sony v6. And I heard they both offer great isolation. I am looking for good isolation because my house is noisy. my family screams downstairs constantly and my dad blasts his stereos so loud from downstairs i can hear it upstairs with my bedroom door closed. i can even hear him in the basement sometimes.

so i am asking which headphones do you think would offer enough isolation for me? i am planning to use headphones on my riovolt-250 portable mp3 cd player and my stereo reciever.

V6 will provide some isolation. The good thing about the V6 is that they don't need much power to drive them well.

You might want to look into Etymotic products (ER-6) or some Shure products. I know that the ER-6 will block most of the noise as if you are wearing ear plugs.
