I need some help in choosing an amp; other advice welcome about my setups but i ll be posting in the appropriate forum.
I just received the Fiio and I ordered a xin supermicro amp over a year ago but.......

I have a pretty ecclectic taste in music (except for coutry), top 2 being rock and classical.
I like detail.
high bitrate mp3s and Flac.

my budget is around 200, needs to be portable but I'm willing to spend a bit more for a
usb dac and be able to use it with a lot of my equipment, for better synergy or double duty as a desktop amp.
Run time is negligible if i can switch batteries or power it up with those external batteries for laptops or usb gadgets.

I've been eyeing the mini ^3 for 150$.

Right now the equipment I am using (from most to least used)

Portable

Zune 80GB
Meizu M6 SP
archos 504 80GB (almost always for video but if an amp helps...)
sony n910 MD (mainly for recording)
sansa fuze on order

headphones/iems that i mostly use

ety er4p (worth getting an adaptor to er4s ?)
shure e2c I don't use
(want to buy some earphones/iem for gym/sports/snowboarding)
DT 770

as for pcs and laptops

HTPC considering buying an x-fi xtreme music to mod
output to an Harmon Kardon avr-347 receiver and infinity primus p362 front speakers
Denon sub and surround system
gaming/editing X-Fi
logitech 5300e 5.1 speakers
tablet pc don't care to listen from it
audigy 2 ZS available
ultraportable PC sony tz150 for movies,

For $200 you can get an iBasso D2 Boa... I've recently got mine - although I think the DAC section of it is maybe a little bit bright, but I find I get used to it. Works well as a portable amp, super long battery time (~30 hours they say - I haven't run mine flat yet). My only complaint is that it is maybe too solid in its construction - it's all metal and the ends aren't curved which makes it that little bit less portable, but still, it's very small.

If you didn't really need a DAC you could maybe get some better value for money with an amp only (no suggestions here, sorry :/)

Get a mini³ (The Mini³ Portable Stereo Headphone Amplifier). With the ety ER4P and classical-->concert hall. You can play with the S adaptor, but in my experience the P has some bass, and is not so analytical; to me is more enjoyable. But the S is also very interesting experience. Is a matter of taste. Both are truth tellers, and the best I've heard in canlphones or buds.
