I have sound imbalance and I hear more sound in one can.

I'd like to correct that annoying problem.

My setup is: Comp (FUBAR +WASAPI), coaxial from mobo (bit perfect capable), ZERO DAC (Earth HDAM), LD MK IV SE (5654 driver tubes), Sennheiser HD595.

The facts are:
- Driver tubes are new, balanced, tested by Yen Audio and still burning.
- Cans are not the issue because sound is well balanced on other systems.

My questions are:
- Could the source of the problem be the DAC portion of the ZERO?
- Could the source of the problem be the power tubes?
- Has anyone heard of previous cases of sound imbalance with the MK IV SE?
- How can I get a clear balanced sound?

Same thing happened to me when my LD MKIII power tubes were on their way out.

Try switching the 6N6Ps (Make sure the amp if off!). Then turn it on and see if it switched the imbalance to the other channel.

I'll try that when I get home tonight.
Did David from LD send you new power tubes w/o purchase?

Do you have a good power tube to recomend?
I'm NOT looking for a very lush or warm sound.
I want dynamics, clarity, sharpness and a in your face kind of sound.
I want to hear it all and well and I want it heavy and powerful. NOT laid back.

P-S I'm switching to solid state as soon as LD makes a headphoneamp that has a very good preamp stage.

The MK V doesn't do preamp.

Why no warm sound? I listen to metal (and a lot of other things), and I enjoy it much more when the guitars are practically dripping with grind and midrange. Maybe I'm just crazy.

Maybe shoot Prickley Peete or Penchum a PM. I don't know anything about the LD MKIV.

Yes, I agree for metal music but not for techno or punk rock music.
