Hello. Let me apologize first before i begin. You will have difficult time understanding my writing because i'm not good at English.
I'm looking for a good pair of closed can. Im using audio-technica a700 and it sounds ok but doesn't block out wind-noise very well.

so my current candidates are 7509 and dt660. Anyone had a chance to compare these two?

I need a can that

a) has good sound quality

b) blocks out outside noise well(thou not as good as canal phones in terms of isolation)

c) blocks out wind-noise well like k271 and hfi-650(a700 blocks out some amount of outside noises very well and is identical to a900 except sound and colour, but it doesn block out wind noise because wind gets inside the headphone through air ducts. I cant concentrate b/c of the wind noises.)

d) is comfortable to wear.

e) is portable of course because im gonna using them outside.

f) non px-200, canal phones, k271, dt770(too.. big!), dt250, hfi-650 and hd25.

g) covers whole ear (not like dt250)

h) can be driven without an amp. I have an amp but it ran out of batteries pretty quickly.

i*) has wide soundstage (im expecting too much thing on closed heaphone.)

A900 seems to be popular in this forum but I was not impressed by its sound when i once auditioned it. I felt a900 was better than a700 in most aspects except bass but walking down the street ignoring people looking at me is.... not easy

. I hope 7509 and dt660 are better than a900 in terms of SQ. ummm... anyway, my source for headphone is usually portable cd-player and i have a Dr Head amp (which is said to be slightly better than normal cmoy. it only goes for 5 hrs

my a700 sounds warmer amped with dr head) I mainly listen to pop and classics. ummm...

Are there other options?

edit: i did read a thread says 7509 sounds identical to v700! is that true? does 7509 sound that horrible? I'm really confused because there are huge different opinions on those 2. any comment?

Wow, not many phones left now

.
Maybe try Ultrasone's new PROline? Comfort is probably like the HFI's except that the cans are circular, sound should be different though.

I was told that ultrasone PROline headphones use different pads unlike those of HFIs... I like the sound of HFI-650 but... it was fairly uncomfortable and looks dolkey. If I change the pads of 650, then it would sound differently... wouldnt it?

I'm closed to get dt660. Did (does) anyone use it outside? Does dt660 well block out wind noises? And... I have one more thing to say... the cable is coiled... right? because i know dt250 and dt770 are coiled.

dt770 too big? I'm pretty sure the dt770 is the same size as the dt660... I would recomend the dt770 pro 80 ohm, if you have an ipod g4 or another portable player that has a powerful headphone jack

thank you goody but i want to know why you recommended me dt770 pro 80 ohm over dt660. i did read a prenty of posts about dt770-80 and i see positive sides of them. unlike 250ohm version mids are not hidden by bass but there is no comparison between dt660 and dt770"80ohm." Which can would be better deal for portable use? i prefer sounds i can enjoy.

edit: and how can i know my portable player has a powerful headphone jack? i think im making you comfused. srry.

Not sure why the Senn HD25 or less expensive and simpler more streamlined cousin the HD25sp are being ruled out. These isolate quite a bit. The HD25sp is the only headphone other than the PX200 I've seen that has the desired near zero visual impact, and it sounds better to me than the popular AT-FC7, nevermind better appearance outside the living room.
