A friend at work got me sucked in to the headphone community a couple of months ago. I have purchased the Sennheiser PX100's and the Allesandro MS1's and thoroughly enjoy both of them and their individual qualities. I just received a Total Bithead, which I have hooked up to my laptop and ipod. I should mention I got the amp before a nicer pair of headphones because the sound card on my laptop was messed up anyway, so I figured I would kill two birds with one stone.
I am looking to buy a new pair of headphones that will actually be powered by the amp. I am not really sure of my price range, but definitely under $200. The 595's seem to be a really good deal, and said friend has recommended the AKG 701's and other Sennheisers like the 555 or 600's.
Basically, what is the best headphone for my situation and price range?
Thanks in advance.

It depends what you are looking for. If you are using it for portable use, look at closed headphones like the Shure SRH840s or IEMs like the Etymotic ER4P.
It also depends what kind of sound you like. All the ones you listed are excellent, but sound very different. As you know Grados (or Allesandros) are bright and punchy, AKGs, like the K701s, are very neutral and detailed. I really like Sennheisers, which are known for being smooth and warm. If you go with Sennheisers, I would go with the HD600s, or try to find a used pair of Sennheiser HD580. They have the same drivers, and are cheaper. You can usually find them for about $150. I say go for something like these, because if you go less expensive, you will ge looking to ugrade more quickly in my opinion.

Good Luck!

The SR200i is a good step up the Grado line.

At Headroom, they have the Pro900 for ~$150 in the B-stock page; OUTSTANDING deal. Don't know if the Bithead will power it enough...
