Going to New York City in August pretty soon and looking for a decent portable headphone in the price range of $100-$200. It can be IEM or OEM but preferably OEM since I think that will have better sound quality. I can't take my Denon D2000 on the trip because it is too fragile, so the headphone must have
-Good build quality, going to be using these on the airplane/hotel room
-Carrying Case
-Deep, controlled bass not muddy
-Good mids, not too recessed not too forward
-Clean highs no sibilance
-Good for long listening sessions, comfortable and not too tight on head
I listen to mostly hip-hop and rap / r&b, so good bass and mids are a MUST.. Other genres I listen to are electronic, dubstep, and occasionally metal and rock.
Also I will be running these with iPod Touch and FiiO E11
