The Hifiman HE5xx is available still from Hifiman with warranty and will be a terrific upgrade from the Sony. I had those years ago and used them daily, but the HE5XX will be so much better. I used those a couple of years until I got the Arya Stealth.

I have decided to get a HiBy R4 soon and need a new headphones. I am currently using a Sony MDR-7506 with the coil wires and it is so long, wonky and gets in the way. My budget is $200. The cheaper, the better. But if it has to be that expensive, then so be it. Thanks!

Would you consider wired ones if the wire were more appropriate (or interchangeable)?

Definitely wired if it is doable. However I find it hard to find one that is doable.
