Hello, I'm in a dilemma right now and need you guys help. I'm looking to order a Verizon FIOS internet plan and I'm stuck between the ( 15mbps download / 5mbps upload $55 a month ) vs. ( 25mbps download / 25mbps upload $70 a month ). I'll be mostly utilizing this internet connection for if the family wants to watch Netflix and/or play Xbox 360 over LIVE and when I myself download HD movies and upload videos to Youtube. This could sometimes all be happening at once, but usually it won't. Simple web browsing will often be happening between various computers at the same time. I was wondering if 15/5mbps is good enough or should I play it safe and go for the 25/25mbps? Thanks!

15/5 should be fine if you're actually getting 15/5 mbps.
More often, the case is that you only end up with 7/3-ish

Use a site like http://www.speedtest.net/ to identify the speed of your current connection, then decide what's right for you based on that.

Also, be aware that mbps and mBps are two different things.

Try the 15/5 and if you are unhappy with the performance then consider upgrading the service. I would check with your service provider if there are charges or equipment updates to upgrade or downgrade your service.

Thanks guys, I'll try the 15/5 first and see if that connection speed is adequate enough, if not, I'll upgrade. Also, The reason I'm choosing Verizon FIOS is because they actually give you the amount of bandwith you are paying for. According to various Youtube video's showing a bandwith test. The only time the bandwith drops below what was advertised is when you're running wireless and you are far from the router.

Also, according to that speed test website my download is 2.3mbps and my upload is 1.6mbps. It's not fast enough for my family's and I needs.
