I really like using in-ear headphones and I've been using them for 3+ years now. I like how they have a bit of noise isolation specially when I'm listening in the car or when I'm at the gym.
I've been using SkullCandy earphones and I'm planning on upgrading to a more "upscale" earphones.
I currently have the SkullCandy Smokin' Buds and the Asyms, both of which I think gives decent sound, definitely better than the stock apples.
My sound source is gonna be my ipod touch, and I mostly listen to rap/hip-hop, r&b, alternative, rock, or metal. I usually like my music with some nice deep bass.
Like I said before, I usually use it in the car (while as a passenger, trying to block music from radio) or at the gym (trying to block gym music) so a pretty decent noice isolation is a plus. I also usually fly at least once a year, so something that can drown away the plane's noise would be nice, but is probably not a requirement.
Since I'm gonna be using them at the gym, something sporty would be a plus, although not a requirement. This includes maybe something that doesn't fall off easy or something that is water/sweat proof.
And I also always keep my ipod in my pocket, so somehting with a strong, durable cable is a must. I've had a few cheaper SkullCandys with rubber cables getting snagged, I wouldn't want this to happen to a more expensive piece.
Overall I'm thinking about spending around $100-$150. I do like high-quality but I don't think I'm ready for the $400 ones.
Initial research, I'm thinking about getting a Head-Direct RE0 ($79) or a Klipsh image s4 ($80), both of which have pretty good reviews
any other suggestions? thanks
