I'm new to this site, in fact this is my first post. I'm also no adiophiliac.

I'm having problems choosing a nice amp/dac to be used with my s7 edge and Audio-Technica ATH-M50x.

To my ears the s7 edge sounds terrible and flat so a amp/dac is needed.

I have been searching the Web, reading reviews on here and stats for two weeks everyday and I'm still stuck deciding what's the best bang for buck (sub $200)amp/dac combo so I thought I'd ask the nice community with experience on here.

At the moment I have XDuoo or ifi nano in mind but I've read nano are prone to hiss although maybe I'll be ok with my cans.

Give some recommendations please.Thx

You don't need amp for M50. IF you want a better DAC,look at any cheap Fiio offering that would suffice. Save the rest of the money to upgrade your cans next time.

I knew someone would say that and yes you're correct. However there is two roads I can go down. One is your method and the other is to buy a amp/dac combo now and better cans later. Future proof amp/dac rather then a cheap disposable dac now. I'd rather have amp/dac now so I can at least listen to music and till the funds are there for better cans. At the moment I won't listen to music cos the s7 is bad. Any other recommendations are still needed. Thx
