I am looking to get my first amp. It needs to be portable and SQ is the most important aspect. I want of course good imaging and good sound stage. I am a fan of a tube amp with guitar so I imaging I would like tubes as a whole for my headphones. I am planning on getting some Senn HD650 (have PX100s and love sound I figured more of a good thing). I listen to aprox 60% classic rock 30% new rock (mostly stuff from the 90s) and 10% everything else.

I have been looking at

1. TTJV Millett Hibrid (like the fact its a tube sound and later I am putting a vinyl rig together and it may be my head phone amp till I can afford another.

2. iBasso D1 (like the dac ability and versatility my Mac G5 has optical out so figured thats a plus and it has usb so I can use it at work)

3. Corda Move (also has usb and is highly regarded)

Another amp is possible as well if you do like any in the list these are just the ones that hop out at me for there abilities and uniqueness. Thanks again for any input!!!

I like the TTVJ Millet for Jazz, for rock I think The Hornet "M" would be hard to beat.

For home you might want to look at Channel Island's offering, at $350 w/ the wallwart or $500 w/ a dedicated PSU it is a very nice sounding unit. Another posibility would be the Little Dot Micro Tube at about $225, it is a very nice sounding hybrid.
