What's wrong with your listening situation? It should be sweet, due to the lack of parallel walls.

The first thing I would suggest would be to get some curtains for that window behind your head -- secondary reflections producing comb filtering. Or perhaps a decorative rug-type wall hanging. You know, like Elvis on blue velvet.

Hm, what do you feel to be the problem? "Limiting" is a bit vague. What I instantly noticed is
a) when your listening position is on the sofa, you're sitting in a box
b) the dampening background for the speakers is asymmetric. On the right you have a wide open, hollow space. On the left you have the shelve, more carpet, and the other piece of sofa.

If I were you I'd try the furniture shuffle.

Possibility a:
Move the desk away and set up the rig by the big window. This is what I would do.
Possibility b:
Might sound boxy as well, but you could try and just switch the rig with the sofa.

or:

Possibility c:
Put some rug/carpet over the stairway hand rail (english??) by the right speaker.
