Ladies and Gents:

I am planning on purchasing my first IEM, to be used during my commute via subway. Playback is via a first generation iPod Touch (data is Apple lossless mostly R&B--Usher, Akon, Ne-Yo, Brian McKnight, Alicia Keys, the likes). First priority is "noise isolation"; second, a sound signature preference of good bass, strong mids, and detailed highs; third, large soundstage; and fourth, fit/comfort (I believe I have smaller than usual ears).

I am contemplating between the Shure SE115 and the Westone UM1. Members experienced with these units, your feedback would be most appreciated.

Further, considering the source of the music (iPod), could you really expect the difference between "night-and-day" stepping up to a dual driver unit? If so, I would also like to consider Westone UM2, ue SuperFi5 Pro, and Etymotic ER4P. Any other suggestions with supporting reasons are most welcome.

BTW, currently using AKG K324P.

ER4P would definitely not be in your sound sig. If you can spend more, it seems like SE530s would be good for you.

HF5s are very close to ER4P if you are looking for detail, they are on sale for $99 right now. Sale almost over!

I honestly can not find any reason to purchase an IEM that outcosts my iPod. Your feedback is most appreciated though.

BTW, where is the sale?

I recommend UE S.FI 5 Pro. I listen to a lot of R&B too. These fit the sound you are looking for.

Thanks for your recommendation.

My fault. Read too fast and thought he was referring to the S.Fi 5. Thanks again.
