Hi guys,
I'm very new to this audio thing & Im only trying to enjoy my music (trance/techno)

At first, i was gonna get the Eve sc204, but after getting advice from you guys here & auditioning the sc205 in person, I got the Eve sc205 & been happy with them, until now.

Now, i have the itch to upgrade to sc207 for better low end (the bass, I hope I said it right).

My question is, should I get the sc207 which has 6.5" driver.
Or
should I stick with the sc205 & get the Eve TS107 sub woofer which also has 6.5" driver.

would the pair of sc207 produce almost as good as with pair of sc205 + ts107?

I would like to have less gears as possible, meaning I do prefer to have only 2 units (2 sc207) rather than 3 units (2 sc205 + sub).

The reason I want the most compact system possible because I do carry them around, to friend's house, hotel, ect...

Please advice this newbie.

Thanks for any advice
Danny

What are you looking for here? Deeper bass extension below what your speakers can already produce? Or better, more powerful bass in the range that your speakers can produce? Or both?

Are you trying to fill a room with sound? Or is this for sitting at a computer and listening? If fill a room, how big a room?

Hi cel4145,
sorry for the late reply.
I have to admit that I love the Eve SC205's mid & high. It's very clear & tight (i'm not sure if I describe it correctly). But the bass isn't quite satisfying especially for trance/techno.

Over the weekend, we partied at a friend's apartment which has a Sony sound system, I dont even know what those are, but quite a number of separate units (I guess tweeters), but 1 sub woofer. We didnt like the way his system sounds, so, I brought over my speakers & we played around with the 2 systems.
We all agreed that it sounded best when hooking up only his sub woofer (which is a bit bigger than my speaker) to my sc205's. It sounded very satisfying.

His living room that we placed the speakers in is approximately 25 - 30 m2.
The loudness was at 80 - 90% on my speakers, the volume level of the iFi iDSD was at max, & the master volume level of foobar200 was around 60% & It was more than enough. Meaning we had no problem to fill in the room with my speakers's loudness from their mid & high. However, if we unhooked the sub, it was obviously lacking of the bass.
So, to answer your questions, I think the sc205's arent producing enough powerful bass.

I dont sit at a computer & listening to music, but rather am looking for filling up the room I must say.
The room size is under 30 m2 untreated.

Thanks for any advice.
D
