First off, hello everyone.
I've been doing some reading on these forums for a few days now, and I'm looking for some input on what to purchase. I am a software developer, and spend a decent amount of time with headphones on. The built-in audio on my desktop at work leaves a bit to be desired, so I'm thinking of getting an external DAC/amp for my headphones.
Specifically, I'm looking at the Topping TP-30, as it has USB input and a mini headphone output. I won't really be using this to drive speakers (at least not in the foreseeable future), but that's not to say that the ability to do so isn't important at all.
Is the Topping an alright piece? For less than $100, it seems to be a solid deal to me.
Anyone have any input?
Oh, and the headphones I'll be using haven't been decided on yet. Right now I'm using a old pair of Sony MDR-V300's, which are nothing special. However, they've been with me since before I started high school, and I graduated college last May, which, to me, doesn't seem too bad for a $50 set of cans.
