Hi Everyone,
Wanted to post to ask for some advice, and maybe get a little discussion going on some of the differences between various models of custom IEM's, especially JH Audio's line.
I have the good fortune of living about 10 minutes from Jerry Harvey's lab. I've been by to visit and Jerry is such a cool guy, and totally helpful, but I don't want to take up a ton of his time going through every nuance of my listening preferences and financial constraints while I try to make a decision on which model to purchase.
Here's the thing: Obviously, the JH-13 is the way to go. It's apparently incredible, and I would love to buy the 13's. But, in the interest of not being castrated by my wife, I think I may have to sacrifice a little. Jerry spoke of the JH7's being a lot of fun, and looking the the descpription of the UE-7's on the UE site and comparing it with his description of the JH7's, they look like a similar product.
I'm also looking at the JH10X3's.
Regarding my listing style, I would say I want something fun, but sufficiently detailed and analytical as well. I don't think my ear is quite as discerning as some, but I am savvy enough to pick out some subtle differences in things. Mainly, I listen to rock, alternative, and folk. Not too much classical.
As I said, budget is a consideration.
Thanks so much for any thoughts you may have!
