Hello. Im about to purchase a new headphone for listening to stereo music on the computer. I have no interest in gaming or cinematics. I have a pc with a esi maya 44 soundcard.

I have the following setup in mind.

foobar flac/monkey --> esi maya 44 (via asio for 44khz samplerate output) --> decent head amp --> beyer dt 880.

What would be a good head amp for this ?

Notice the cable is 3 meter, and the cord on the headphone itself is 1 meter.

I have around 300-350 euro to spend on the headphone and amp. The AKG K 701 is around 230 euro.

I also consider the AKG K 701, but I have to hear it in a store first to be able to decide.

Ill probably save some more and buy a dac/amp instead. The maya 44 has optical out so maybe I can attach a dac/amp to it.

Hello facelvega. Thanks for helping me out so much. I am willing to spend my time in investigation before I buy the equipment, but its very hard to know what would be best for me. Appreciate it very much.

Do you know if its possible to delete my old threads. I think its a waste people still answering my obsolete questions since I know more now.

No. I live in europe in the Netherlands. The equipment is much harder to get here. I wish they sold more equipment instead of stuff.
