I love my Oistrakh/Mitropoulos version, but the mono recording leaves me wanting a stereo version. Any suggestions?

Second Tyson. In addition the Vengerov Shostakovich vc is paired with the Prokofiev and they are both excellent. 2 cds, one with the first concertos, the second with the second concertos.

Vengerov is a great choice. Also consider Mordkovich, Salerno-Sonnenberg (1st only) and Sitkovetsky. Kaler is a good budget alternative.
