Hi guys. I want to buy a good full sized headphone and use it on my notebook or on my LCD TV. (for listening music, watching movies) I heard really good things about Audio Technicas ATH M50. My question is when i want to use it without amp on my notebook will be the sound good enough? I heard that the M50s sounds great without amp, so is this the right choice for me, or there are better headphones which will sound good without an amp. (limit is 130€, the ATH M50 costs 130€ here in my country) This will be my first quality headphones, i never listened to other good quality phones only cheap ones.

Thanks in advance and sorry for my bad engish.

Any pair of headphones will be good for your needs (except Beats). Where do you live?

I would have to say M50's are a great choice if you're just starting to get into the world of headphones/high quality audio. No Beats, No Soul by Ludacris, as a general rule of thumb. If I were you I would just take a look at the head gear section and look around for other headphones. My personal recommendation would be a Sennheiser HD518, or maybe Grado SR80i, or Shure SRH440s.

Thanks guys for the quick replies, i chose the ATH m50s because i read it has a good bass/response and i like good bass, not too much bass. I dont want too neutral sound but i want to hear the bass and m50s seems to be the best for this.
