Guys, new member here from India.

I recently bought a Sennheiser HD598 SE.
I had read lots of positive reviews about this one.
Actually the non SE one..
But i liked the colour scheme of the SEs, so bought that..
However i never was able to really appreciate the sound.
So i thought buying a AMP/DAC combo might help me, get the actual sonic pleasure.
I got myself a fiio k1.

Still nothing..
I felt there was no particular expansion of soundstage. However the mid and highs got a bit defined..
But still the increment was quite minimal..

But when i paired the fiio k1, to my m20x Audio technica. The difference was immediately observable...
The soundstage on m20x expanded considerabley. Mids both vocaks and instruments got heigher detail..However the highs still remained on the harsher side..
But overall the fiio worked great with my m20X but sadly not on my HD598SE.

I am not a big basshead.
I would much more love, defined base over a thumping one.

Could you suggest me a DAC/AMP combo, that would help me get the most out of the HD598se.
The max budget that i could accommodate is about 150$ but the problem is that Fiio is the only company that i know of which sells its DAC/Amps in India.
So its better if you suggest in the same brand.

PS-Is there any driver level difference between the SE and the regular version.

I would suggest a Bravo Ocean tube (hybrid) headphone amplifier.
Maybe buy a separate DAC from Hifimediy

Have a HD 598 and it soube lovely through my E17, best at 6 or 12 gain. Have the Ocean with a clear top and don't quite enjoy it as much. My Bravo has use specially when paired with my DT 880. HD 598 is already really smooth and somewhat mellow so I really think pairing it tubes isn't the best
