Thinking about getting a Grado SR225 but I need it with a 1/8 jack. So im looking at the official grado on and its like 15 dollars, then i see some ones like in radio shack that cost a few dollars. Is there any difference in quality? Does it justify the difference in cost? Thanks

It's not a screw on for as far as I know.

My idea would be to go for the radioshack one or maybe a Neutrik. Do get a gold plated one though. Not that that actually sounds better, but it prevents the connector from oxidizing.

You're talking about taking the 1/4" plug and adapting to a 1/8" jack, right?

The main problem with most adapters is that they're a solid piece. Which means that you have about a 4 or 5 inch handle sticking out of a connector that's about a half inch long. Makes it very easy to destroy the jack.

If radioshack has one with 6 or 8 inches of wire on it, sure, go with that.

The Radio Shack one would probably sound thinny, harsh with bloated bass and rolled-off.

But seriously, just buy the Radio Shack one. I seriously doubt that there would be a difference in SQ.
