You would think 40GB is enough even for a music hound like me, but no. I guess not. So what are the top 60gb players nowadays. All i hear about is the ipod photo and the toshiba gigbeat. Are there any other upcoming players from iAudio or other companies. If not, what's the top 60GB player as of now.

there is also the ever popular modification to nearly any 2.5" disc based player.

my player presently is slightly too small for capacity (a joke...) it has 100gb (it seriously does.)

The Karma uses a 1.8" hard drive, so it won fit. Your best bet is a Zen 2.0/NX/Xtra. Actually the Zen 2.0 and Xtra come in 60GB capacities, so maybe you can find one cheap on Ebay so you don't have to spend time modifying them, unless of course you want an 80GB or 100GB player.

i presently have an archos av-3100

i used to have a zen xtra 80gb.

the archos is kinda tubby, i dont mind. i just play a movie, and nobody with an i-have a color screan-too pod can say a word.... the jaws drop. then i tell them its like 3 years old, and 3 hardware revisions out of date....

the zen xtra was only a hair larger (in every direction) than the largest ipod. a 2.5" drive fits in there goodly.

So why don't you just delete some? It's not like you can listen to it all. If there's some you want to save, just keep it on your computer.

my player regularly sells on ebay for about $225. if you dont need movie, but just huge capacity, an older creative zen with a hdd swap will do superbly.

i just thoguht of how much money i personally have in my protable rig, and i almost want to be sick.

karma can add a 60 gig with a lil effort, for pretty cheap i think. you can find karmas with dead hdds on ebay for like $10 so all you have to pay for is the drive really

Hi,

You can fit a 30gb to the Karma though they are expensive. To fit a larger disk you have to dremmel out the case and modify/remove a metal bracket, tricky, since it may not fit back together. Once finished, the Karma will not fit into the dock.

Regards

John
