I currently have an Onkyo TX-SR575 receiver that I'm going to be connecting with the speakers from the Cambridge Soundworks DTT2500 computer set. I'm also using the wires that were supplied with this speaker set so I'm wondering if it would make any sense to replace them or if I should wait until I get some real speakers?

After scouring the net I believe the speakers are 4 ohms and the cables look to be in the 20+ gauge...

unless you are doing 50+ foot runs with your speaker cable, 20 gauge is fine

I'm not into cables in any sense of the word, but the last set of Cambridge's I had came with some pretty flimsy wire. Some lamp cord or speaker-wire on a roll would probably serve you well for under $10.
