When listening to a song on my wife's Nano, the album art appears on the screen. If there is no artwork associated with the song playing, there is an empty box. I can't figure out how to get rid of the album art so it will display the name of the song being played along with the bar that shows the songs progress (the normal screen you see on an ipod). I've gone into options when the Nano is connected to my computer and tried the setting on the Nano itself.

Thanks for the assistance.

press the centre button on the nano when the playback screen is on the album art, it switches between, normal screen, ffwd bar, album art, and star rating.

Thanks for the suggestion but it didn't work. I wonder if I need to do a full reset back to factory settings. I will wait a bit to see if there are any other suggestions before I try the reset.

If what jonnywolfet suggests doesn't work you probably either need to turn it off or do a reset. Never seen this problem before.

This won't come as a shock to any of you, but I am an idiot.

blessingx got it right. I am an idiot becuase that should have been the first thing I tried. I've only had ipods since the first generation. Thanks for the help. blessingx, send me your address, I have a Bob Dylan cd. This was a secret contest to give away a cd that a previous winner of a free giveaway declined because shipping to Taiwan was just a little expensive.
