Nano+dock+line out=??

Anyone have any experience with a Nano in a dock, line out to an amp, I understand the output is variable, taking a different route vs the headphone out, would like to know.

The nano dock isn't out yet, but with all other iPod docks, the line-out is constant and not variable when used with the nano.
