No, but I wish I was. I attended several back in the 80's. Met and spoke with Leo Fender there one year. At the end of one day, several well known rock musicians who had been hired by different instrument manufacturers to demo and endorse equipment, started an impromtu jam session .... each playing from their respective booths throughout the main convention hall. Because each instrument was emanating from various locations all around me, it was similar to surround or even headphone listening .... but live. Effectively it was like standing on a gigantic stage amongst the band. It was pretty amazing.
This will be my 5th year attending. Impromptu jams are always great! Last year I was able to stand 3 feet away from Alex Skolnick and watch him wail away on a Martin acoustic guitar. Simply amazing!
Then walk around a bit and watch Gary Hoey perform. Then Jeff Berlin w/ Larry Coryell performing in a small booth with maybe 10-15 people watching. WOW!
Stuff like this is what keeps me going back.
