I am about to buy NAD C540 for my primary CD player. It costs only $220 here. Has anybody ever hear this CDP? This CDP has Burr Brown SIgma Delta and Elna Cerafine Caps which I consider the goodies of this unit. But I am still anxious regarding its sound.
Comments please!

Cheers

I strongly believe that NAD CD players will give you the best bang for the buck. I have owned the NAD 522, own NAD 521 and auditioned the 541. Some people say NAD players are slightly thin in the bass. But I would say it mainly is locking the boominess associated with low end gear. Overall these are great players for what they cost. I have auditioned the Rega and Music Hall players and found that they are definitely better and in a deferent class but you are looking at $500-800 I'm very happy with my NAD 521 and it blows away low end players I compared it to (JVC, Panasonic) it sounded allot better then my JVC XV-SA70 DVD player as well. Much more detailed and clear sound. The overall deference was VERY apparent. I actually could not believe how much better the NAD sounded. I am looking in to upgrading in the next few months but that’s just part of the HIFI disease

I would also recommend going with the 541, it adds the CDR support and is better with scratched CDs. Check out this 521 review http://www.goodsound.com/equipment/nad_c521i.htm
