Will this be a very big, very noticeable, improvement in sound quality?
NAD 512 to 963SA or CD25?

Although I haven't heard the 512, there will probably be a difference in sound but I doubt it would be worth the expense. You'll probably get more detail, better soundstaging, etc but refinement will still be lacking.
I have a NAD c541i and I'm looking to upgrade. I will have to spend about three times what I paid for the NAD to get an appreciable difference (new cost).
