I was listening to my creaitve vision M today when all of a sudden the song frooze and sounded like it was skipping/repeating. It was fully charged before I listened to it, and now when I try to tap the reset button I get a blank screen, or Maybe if I'm lucky the creative start up screen and it'll just freeze right there. I've tried tapping the reset button many times. I'll Have to send it in.

Thanks

Hmmm... it does look like the HDD. If your music is on yor PC then I'd try a format+load music again, then a firmware reload if that doesnt work. After that the only recourse really is Creative Support (STILL no sign of my ZVM).

I hope you can take it back to the store, or have an extended warranty, creative is really slow to fix stuff, my broken micro can attest to that

Apple on the other hand in my experiance is outstanding- I had a broken nano that had a defective screen and they overnighted me a shipping box, and paid for overnight back to them, then overnighted the new one back to me. I had my new nano in 3 days!

I am not an apple fanboy by any stretch, but that blew me away- I am used to getting such crappy service from 99.9 % of companies.

Good luck, the vision is a nice piece of kit, I made damn sure I bought the extended warranty when I got mine.

I think is def the harddrive, All I get now is a blank screen, and a blue button from the hold switch. I drained the battery overnight, and even when I'm luck to get to the rebuilding mode, it freezes on me.

Not to rub it in, but if you buy straight from Apple, if you have a problem with you iPod, simply bring it in to any Apple Store, sign up for a spot @ the 'Genius' Bar (lol sorry, but I knew more than them on iPods and headphones

), and talk to them.

Very simple service; I only had trouble with this one dumb-loooking guy who thought he knew everything.

"My audio jack has been cutting out on the right side."
"Probably a software problem."
"Um...such a problem would not be the case."
"YES IT IS" (he said it loudly and madly)
"...um, okay..."

I mean, what the heck?! Of course, I easily pwned him later on, and he was forced to recycle another Shuffle after the one I originally got as a replacement had a black dot on it that seemed to be integrated into the plastic 0_o

well, rockbox is one reason why I'm leaning towards an ipod. I'm fustrated with my vision M no, its really pissing me off. I think I'll pick up a sandisk 1gb for 50 bucks and in the future buy a cowon a2. Creative had failed me again.

Try putting the ZVM into recovery mode. Hold the power switch to the on position while pressing reset and hold it there until you get the Recovery menu.

Try all the options except for Reload OS/Firmware

ZVM has a 1 year warranty (over here anyway), shouldn't cost you anything. Contact Creative support first and go from there.
